Information minister hails solid Bahrain-UK ties

Manama, June 7 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi has lauded the solid long-standing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, stressing that the 200-year old ties have always been based on cooperation, strategic partnership in supporting economic development, and shared keenness on strengthening regional and global security, peace and stability, and combating extremism and terrorism. The minister made the statements while receiving here today the UK Ambassador to Bahrain Simon Martin and the Military Attaché at the British Embassy to Bahrain Andrew Price. Al-Rumaihi discussed with them ways to strengthen the Bahraini-British relations of cooperation and friendship, especially in the media field through training, and the exchange of expertise, news and information. They also reviewed regional and global issues of shared interest. The minister highlighted the outstanding celebrations of the 200th anniversary of Bahrain-UK relations, lauding their steady progress in the political, security, economic, media and cultural areas. Ambassador Martin thanked the minister for his interest in boosting ties with the United Kingdom and underlined his country’s keenness on developing cooperation with Bahrain.
