Crown Prince emphasises that the role of the public sector will move from the central driver of growth to one that supports sustainable development

Manama, June 8 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister this evening visited the Majlis of His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, His Excellency Ali Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council and the Majlis of Taqi and Sadiq Al Baharna.
During his majlis visits, His Royal Highness highlighted that the next phase of Bahrain’s economic development will see the role of the public sector move from the central driver of growth to one that supports sustainable development, which is in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad. His Royal Highness added that the Kingdom will continue to prioritise policies that directly contribute to fostering opportunities for all and further improving citizens’ living standards.
The Crown Prince went on to note the challenges that regional markets currently face in light of the decline in global oil prices, and stressed that these challenges will be overcome by enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors, and further building on Bahrain’s successful diversification efforts and private sector-led growth.
In this regard, His Royal Highness added that Bahrain’s economic competitiveness is supported by the Kingdom’s advanced legislation and regulatory frameworks, which foster investment opportunities, and increase productivity, innovation and creativity. His Royal Highness further expressed his pride in the Kingdom’s development and current economic standing, which has been achieved through the efforts of Bahrain’s loyal citizens.
The Crown Prince further highlighted the importance of continuing to advance diversification efforts and the role of the private sector, adding that the sector plays an important role in Bahrain’s long-term development and economic growth.
Speaking about the next phase of Bahrain’s economic development, the Crown Prince also said that a series of policies and strategies are being developed based on the principles of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which include sustainability, competitiveness and fairness. The Crown Prince stressed that these policies and strategies will build on Bahrain’s achievements to lay the groundwork for a new phase of development that ensures citizens’ aspirations are met in full.
His Royal Highness exchanged Ramadan greetings with the majlis attendees and welcomed the role majlises play in reinforcing community cohesion, saying that majlises bolster Bahraini unity and contribute to the Kingdom’s further development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad.
Speaking about Bahrain’s education sector, His Royal Highness reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to the development of the sector through continued investment in Bahrainis, which will protect citizens’ interests and contribute to long-term economic growth.
His Royal Highness also spoke about the peaceful principles of Islam that call for moderation and rationality, adding that these principles promote harmony amongst young people and allow them to follow a correct path in life. His Royal Highness highlighted that the national duty of all Bahraini’s is to pass down values of patriotism, moderation and peacefulness to future generations.
For their part, the majlis hosts and guests extended their gratitude to the Crown Prince for his majlis visits, and highlighted the Crown Prince’s crucial role in advancing Bahrain’s sustainable development.
