Works Ministry receives Saudi delegation

Manama, June 10 (BNA): Assistant Undersecretary for Construction Projects & Maintenance at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Mona Al Motawa received a delegation from the Saudi Development Fund to show them the latest developments in the new schools under implementation. The inspected schools are designed and supervised by the Works Ministry and funded by the Saudi Development Fund as part of the Gulf Development Programme. The meeting was attended by the Construction Projects Director Eng. Wadeea Marzooq, representatives from the Finance Ministry and a number of engineers from the Ministry’s Works Affairs. Al Motawa welcomed the delegation and commended the bilateral relations between the two Kingdoms, especially those related to infrastructure projects. The meeting shed light on implementation phases at the five schools funded by the Saudi Development Fund and the progress achieved in each one of the schools; namely Busaiteen Intermediate School for Girls, Isa Town Primary/Intermediate School for Boys, Hunainiya Secondary School for Boys, Hamad Town Intermediate School for Boys and Malkiya Intermediate School for Girls. Al Motawa explained that the five schools aim to realize development objectives in the Kingdom of Bahrain, therefore achieving sustainability in education services and providing a school seat for all students. The Construction Projects Directorate at the Ministry has ensured that the schools designs are compatible with the modern requirements of the Ministry of Education. Also, green buildings specifications have been applied at all schools; aiming to save energy, use environment-friendly elements and provide all facilities for the students with special needs. The delegation was later taken on a tour to the schools, where they received a detailed explanation about each one of the schools. The delegation commended the quality and design of the schools.
