Tatweer Petroleum wins MEED Award

Manama, June 12 (BNA): Tatweer Petroleum, the company responsible for the redevelopment of the Bahrain Oil Field, has won the 2015 MEED Quality Award for National Upstream Oil & Gas Project of the Year. The award was presented to Tatweer for their Light Oil Steam Flood project, which maintained a high standard of work, adherence to budget and client satisfaction in a healthy and safe working environment. As almost a "Serial Number 1 project" in the world, Tatweer Petroleum has achieved technical success in deploying a novel Enhanced Oil Recovery process to recover oil trapped in the gas cap of the prolific Mauddud reservoir, one of its sixteen stacked pays that exist in the Bahrain Oil Field. "Under extremely challenging conditions, and having proven the technical success, commercial appraisals are now currently underway for field wide application of this technology in the Mauddud reservoir," said Mr. Andrew Kershaw, Tatweer Petroleum Chief Executive Officer."This is a significant demonstration of world class reservoir engineering excellence combined with masterful execution by our drilling, facilities and production groups. Subject to commercial viability, the full field expansion of this project could add future meaningful oil production for the Kingdom of Bahrain." On this occasion, His Excellency Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Minister of Oil, extended his congratulations to Tatweer Petroleum Executive Management and staff.
