HRH CP: Fairness and the rule of law are the cornerstone of His Majesty’s development programme

Manama, June 14 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister this evening visited the Majlis of the Bin Hindi family, Ali Rashid Al Amin, Shaikh Adel Al Maawdah and the Bin Daina and Alaraifi families. During the majlis visits, His Royal Highness commented that the principle of fairness safeguards the rights of the Kingdom’s citizens, and in turn requires the respect of the laws and their application. His Royal Highness noted that upholding the rule of law enables citizens to constructively participate in the Kingdom’s development and guarantees their rights in obtaining equal opportunities and services, and further highlighted its vital role in ensuring the safety and stability of the country and its people. His Royal Highness noted that the Kingdom’s commitment to this principle nationally, economically, and through its development, is reflected in incorporating the principle of fairness as an important pillar within the National Action Charter, as well as Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. His Royal Highness added that these two milestones form distinctive landmarks in His Majesty King Hamad’s programme of development, which supports and ensures the delivery of economic gains to Bahrain’s citizens. His Royal Highness then highlighted that the general framework of all the current economic goals and initiatives put in place will push Bahrain’s economy forward into the next phase. His Royal Highness noted that these goals and initiatives will continue to support the transition to an economy that is dynamic and diversified, and that is independent and resilient to various economic challenges. His Royal Highness further highlighted the efforts to foster a sustainable economic environment, in order to achieve further development. In this regard, His Royal Highness stressed that these efforts will create high quality opportunities and improve the standard of living for Bahrain’s citizens, which is in line with His Majesty’s directives. His Royal Highness added that the next phase of Bahrain’s economic development will be based on the three principles of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030: sustainability, competitiveness and fairness. The Crown Prince stressed the importance of further improving the Kingdom’s investment environment by developing Bahrain’s infrastructure in line with international standards and increasing the economy’s interconnectivity with international markets, by adopting efficient organisational improvements that facilitate economic incentives and allow unrestricted movement of capital. His Royal Highness highlighted the role of the private sector in the Kingdom’s development and stressed the importance of further supporting this role through instilling innovation in the productive and administrative procedures of local companies and increasing the openness of Bahrain’s markets. During the visits, His Royal Highness underlined the importance of continuing to attract foreign direct investment, which remains an integral component that drives creativity. In this regard, His Royal Highness underscored the private sector’s vital contribution to Bahrain’s development and economy, underpinning the next phase of the Kingdom’s development. His Royal Highness further added that the private sector has assumed its role as a main driver of development, spurring growth in a wide range of sectors, particularly the financial, industrial and service sectors. His Royal Highness noted that these sectors will create high value jobs and drive the Kingdom’s economic development forward, guaranteeing improved living standards for all. The Crown Prince extended his best wishes on the holy month of Ramadan to the majlis hosts and guests, and noted that Ramadan reflects the unity and solidarity that exist amongst Bahrain’s society.
