Ombudsman receives US ambassador

Manama, June 15 (BNA): Ombudsman Nawaf Mohammed Al-Ma’awda met here today the US Ambassador to Bahrain William Roebuck, who was accompanied by the Political and Economic Advisor at the US Embassy. The Ma’awda reviewed with the delegation the overall activities of the Office of the Ombudsman over the past period, as revealed in its third annual report which was issued recently. He asserted that the Office of the Ombudsman spares no effort in consolidating respect for human rights through its terms of reference, an as part of its national and human duties. He highlighted the Office of the Ombudsman’s efforts in dealing with assistance requests through resolving them, in collaboration with the competent sides for the best interests of normal individuals, as well as detainees, inmates or their relatives.
