Deputy Premier chairs Ministerial Committee for Social Services meeting

Manama, June 15 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa chaired today the meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Social Services, Telecommunications and Media, in the presence of a number of ministers, who are members of the committee, and invitees. He stressed the committee’s keenness to follow up on all issues, pointing out the need to coordinate with relevant parties to rectify the wrong information disseminated by some mass media and highlight the real image in Bahrain and the government’s efforts to boost citizens’ welfare. Then, the committee discussed main issues on its agenda including a memorandum by the Information Minister regarding a request to issue a specialised sport magazine. The Information Minister presented a briefing in this regard in light of the provisions of decree-law number 47 of 2002 concerning press and publication. The committee decided to refer a recommendation to the cabinet to approve the issuance of the magazine in line with legal procedures in this respect. The committee also discussed a draft resolution on cases related to people with special needs and stressed support to this category of people who enjoy every care from the leadership. It tasked the Labour and Social Development Minister to study the draft resolution in details to cater for the needs of people with special needs in tune with the government schemes and the labour market demands.
