Bahrain marks International Yoga Day

Manama, June 21 (BNA): Bahrain joined the world in celebrating the International Yoga Day. The Health Ministry marked the occasion with a celebration held under the patronage of Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh and the Indian embassy.
It was organised by the Cancer Patients Care Group of Bahrain Cancer Society in cooperation with yoga treatment specialist Fatima Mansouri from Princess Al-Jawhara Center for Molecular Medicine and Inherited Disorders. The celebration was attended by Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Alok Kumar, the UN delegation, Municipal Council Head Ahmed Al Ansari, businessmen and senior officials from the Health Ministry.
The Health Minister expressed happiness about attending the celebration, thanking the Cancer Patients Care Group for the efforts to organise the event. She pointed out receiving a book entitled "Yoga: From the Ganges to Well Street", by Radhika Khan, adding that it was very useful for her in learning about yoga and its techniques.
The Indian ambassador welcomed the Health Minister, expressing happiness in taking part in the celebration. He also lauded Bahrain’s support to the UN resolution in December 2014 which was unanimously approved by 177 countries declaring June 21 as the International Yoga Day. He also praised strong relations between Bahrain and India and growing cooperation between both countries in various fields.
