Salehi Crowns winners of Duathlon Race

Manama, June 22 (BNA): The President of the Organising Committee of the second HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Ramadan Games "Nasser 9" Mr. Tawfeeq Salehi crowned the winners of the Duathlon Championship which was held as part of "Nasser 9" at the Bahrain International Circuit's car park. With this event, Nasser 9 reached its conclusion after holding several sporting tournaments, including, but not limited to, a football competition, penalty kick contest, swimming challenge. Shaikh Sager bin Salman Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Triathlon Association, affirmed that organising the event came under the instructions of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa who always stresses the importance of holding a variety of sporting events in order to spread the culture of practicing sport, especially the Triathlon. The Duathlon Championship included a running race for 2.5 kilometers as well as a cycling challenge covering a 10-kilometer-long course. The race ended with a 1.25-kilometer running race. Abdullah Attiya topped the participant list in the 14-19-year-old category, and behind him were Jamy Praize and Abdullah Abu Shabab respectively. In the same category for girls, Mnayer Sameer won first place, followed by Casey Praize and Kulood Abdulaziz respectively. In the 20+ category, Malay Tower finished first, ahead of Mohammed Isa and Nawaf Abdullah, who came second and third respectively. Sameera Al Biytar won the race of the girls' 20+ category, while May Al Hajj and Hana Al Khalifa were second and third respectively. In the team category for boys, the team of Dikson, Joda and Saad finished first. Meanwhile, boys and girls contested in a mixed team race, where the team of Raya, Ghada and Mohammed Aftab finished first.
