Gulf Air, Alfa Express Company sign agreement

Manama, June 23 (BNA): As part of the ongoing mission of Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, to be a socially responsible entity, the airline has selected Alfa Express Company for its waste management and recycling drive. The two companies entered into an agreement recently allowing Gulf Air to avail of recycling services from Alfa Express Company to eliminate and dispose of the organisation’s waste papers, plastic bottles, aluminium cans and cardboard. This initiative is in line with Gulf Air’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy to participate actively in green initiatives, minimise the airline’s impact on the environment while promoting sustainability and acting as a role model to other organizations. At a signing ceremony held at the airline’s Muharraq headquarters Mr.Mohammed Amin Hulaiwah, Gulf Air Director Corporate Affairs & Communications Board Secretary and Dr. Jassim Haji, Gulf Air Director Information Technology signed the agreement with Mr. FadhelAl Maskati, Alfa Express Company Managing Director. Gulf Air is committed to ensuring its operations deliver positive environmental impact. Most recently, the airline rolled out its new generation iPad Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) to all pilots in a move that provides them with fully digitized, real-time access to all operational information inflight, enhancing efficiency while reducing paper usage and delivering cost savings.
