NIHR committee holds regular meeting

Manama, June 23 (BNA): The National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR) Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee held its 14th regular meeting. Chaired by Maria Khoury, the session also includes Hameed Ahmed Hussein as member. The panel reviewed complaints and requests of assistance which were subbmitted to the watchdog. The committee also discussed a parliamentary draft law to amend a paragraph of article 12 of law 26 for 2014 on establishing the National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR). NIHR General-Secretariat has been assigned to study the proposal and submit an advisory opinion to the upcoming committee’ meeting.
