Prince Saud Al-Faisal delivers statement on meeting of Arab
The meeting also reviewed the report of the Arab Ministerial
Committee, and its intensive efforts exerted at the United Nations,
which resulted in near-unanimous passing of the Security Council
resolution No. 1860 based on the key elements of the decision of the
Arab League's council calling for an immediate cease-fire, full
Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, ensuring the preservation of a
permanent cease-fire, maintaining calm, reopening the crossings and
intensifying urgent international humanitarian assistance to the
Palestinian people.
The meeting discussed the importance of this resolution on
stripping the Israeli aggression against the Gaza from the
international legitimacy, and the importance of its maximum possible
capitalization on the achievement of its goals and objectives
requiring movement and communication with influential international
parties collectively and bilaterally to compel Israel to urgent
compliance with the resolution, as well as the possibility of
returning to the Security Council to adopt an executive resolution
for the resolution 1860.
