Bahrain to participate in IPU meeting

Manama, July 13 (BNA): Speaker Ahmed bin Ebrahim Al Mulla will head the Kingdom of Bahrain's parliamentary delegation to the 135th International Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly meeting on October 23-27 in Geneva, Switzerland which will also host the 10th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s Speakers meeting on November 23-24. The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the GCC's Parliamentary Coordinative and Foreign Relations Committee meeting in Manama on November 2-3. The Speaker stressed the importance of the GCC parliamentary meeting in view of exceptional current political, economic developments in the region and the need for unity of ranks and speech in line with the directives of Gulf leaders to continue the comprehensive development process in all fields and to coordinate parliamentary and legislative work to tackle the risk of terrorism that threatens the security and the future of the region's countries and peoples.
