Shaikh Nasser hails royal team’s victory

Manama, July 17 (BNA): Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Bahrain Royal Equestrian Endurance Federation team Captain, lauded the achievement of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team's jockey Rashid Al Ruwai in the Argentan Endurance Race. Riding Sameera, jockey Al Ruwai completed the race in a time of 06:42.46 seconds, travelling at 19.37/h speed. Jockey Al Ruwai outclassed his rivals during the race, finishing the 130m-race in first place. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stated that Al Ruwai's establishment confirms that the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team is moving steadily towards making more achievements on the international stage. HH pointed that the team is continuing to amass accolades on the European level thanks to the high morale of the team following the successes achieved in the recently-held races. "The team met all the preset goals for participating in this event. We wanted to add to the Kingdom’s achievements in the area of sports in addition to preparing the team for up-coming competitions. All this has been achieved thanks to the efforts of the team, notably jockey Al Ruwai who lived up to our expectations. Winning first would certainly give him a boost in his preparations for next races," Dr. Khalid: Big achievement in a tough race Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hassan, the Manager of the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team, expressed his utmost thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the team’s Captain for closely following the race and instructing and guiding the team since their arrival in France. He highlighted that the team jockeys are keen to continue garnering positive results and maintain their positive form this season following the great results achieved last season, locally and in overseas events. Dr. Hassan confirmed that the race was tightly contested, but the Bahrain Royal Endurance Teams jockies once again proved their worth. Al Ruwai: Hard and exciting race Jockey Rashid Al Ruwai thanked HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for closely following the race, revealing that he benefitted from HH Shaikh Nasser’s guidance throughout the race. "The race was tough, especially given the fact that many top competitors were in the fray," jockey Al Ruwai said. Qadouri: Al Ruwai followed the technical plan For his part, trainer Abdulhaq Qadouri stated that Sameera had been well prepared ahead of the race to secure a first place finish in France. He hailed Al Ruwai for implementing the technical plan that was designed prior the race.
