Top honours for Bahrain Jockeys in Germany

Manama, Aug. 1 (BNA): Jockey Khalid Hilal Al Khateri topped the podium at the race round of Riat Sport Zinterem Championship in Germany after clocking 49.22 seconds. He was followed by compatriot jockey Ahmed Mansour in second place, recording 54.28 seconds. Eighth place too was taken by another teammate, jockey Ahmed.
On this occasion, jockey Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, Honourary President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF); and to Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Field Marshal for their support to his overseas outings which contributed in obtaining outstanding results.
Shaikh Isa also valued the follow up of BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Dhiab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi and Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations Brigadier-General Ghanem Ibrahim Al-Fadhala with regards to the needs of the team during their participation in the competition. For his part, jockey Al Khateri expressed his utmost joy at his achievement, stating that it adds to Bahrain's credit in the horse-jumping sport, and gives the team extra confidence to earn more glories in up-coming events.
Jockey Mansour, for his part, said: "Am very proud of what I have achieved in Germany. Finishing second in this prestigious event comes after committing to constant training. And I shall not forget to mention the ideal environment I found during my training for this event thanks to the officials of this sport. These establishments develop and highlight the level of the jockeys we have in Bahrain and their superb abilities. We look forward to add more achievements to Bahrain's name,"
