SCYS chairman praised

Manama, Aug. 3 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa gave his sincere thanks and gratitude to the leadership of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) for his unlimited support to the Bahrain Athletics Association during the last four years, which resulted with a series of achievements at the regional, continental and international levels. His Highness further added, "Allah has blessed us in this country with a wise leadership, which is always keen on the development and advancement of its citizens in all fields, the finest example of this endless support is how they provide for all potential athletes ... We are entering a new challenge in the world's largest sports gathering, and we look forward to achieving more positive results than what was achieved in the London 2012 Olympics where sprinter Maryam Jamal achieved a silver in the 1,500m category, so we can meet the expectations of the wise leadership and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa."
