Yemen, IFC discuss government partnership with private sector
SANA'A, Jan. 18 (Saba)- Deputy Premier for Economic Affairs,Minister
of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al Arhabi has
confirmed government's interest to continue extending clear
partnership framework with the private sector.
During his meeting on Sunday in Sana'a with the International
Financial Corporation (IFC) consultant team, a-Arhabi pointed out to
the existing efforts for developing a legislative, environmental and
institutional framework of this partnership to contribute to
boosting private sector to undertake pioneer role in Yemeni
development march.
Al-Arhabi emphasized the importance of boosting private sector
contributions of development balance in Yemen within allocating a
bigger area for effective participation fit with period merits which
come to demand extending partnership framework between the
government and private sector to achieve general interest of the
country.
In the meeting, which was attended by ministers of justice Ghazi al
Aghbari, works Omer al-Korshami and ransportation Khaled al Wazeer,
the Netherlands company which prepared the study of setting up
partnership program between the government and private sector
presented a summary of the study which aims to design a roadmap of
clear landmark for partnership between the government and private
sector.
The meeting was devoted to review and discuss the study presented by
IFC of the World Bank about setting up partnership program between
the government and private sector which was prepared by specialized
consultants team of Netherlands company.
