Upgrading cultural infrastructure stressed

Manama, Aug 7 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) president Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa today received Capital Secretariat Director General Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. Ways to promote the cultural infrastructure to enhance Bahrain's standing as a cultural and civilizational center in the region and the world were discussed. They also reviewed the development of cultural areas in Manama, including Bab Al-Bahrain, Capital corniche, as well as the forestation of the northern area of Bahrain national Theater. BACA President called for concerted effort to maintain Bahrain's cultural achievements won over three consecutive years, the Capital of Arab Culture in 2012, Capital of Arab Tourism in 2013 and Capital of Asian Tourism in 2014. She pointed the BACA's 2016 cultural programme titled (Bahrain, your Destination). She emphasized keenness to upgrade the cultural infrastructure through holding a number of various projects. Capital Secretariat Director underlined readiness to cooperate with the BACA to boost the cultural movement. He praised the BACA's efforts that accentuate Bahrain's regional and international cultural standing.
