Bajel Cement Factory, Chinese company sign $113 mln agreement

SANA'A, Jan. 18 (Saba) - The Public Corporation of Manufacturing and
Marketing Cement and Chinese Cement Factory signed on Sunday in
Sana'a an agreement of expanding and renewing Bajel Cement Factory
with $113 million.

The agreement states that the Chinese company will implement
expanding and improving project of Bajel Cement Factory with an
annual production capacity of 800,000 tons.

The agreement also includes to improve the previous production line
from 250 tons annually to 400 tons annually.

It will be financed by Chinese government through exportations bank,
with 80% as a soft loan, 20% by the government self-finance and the
Yemeni corporation.

The corporation and Chinese company also signed a second agreement
worth $16 million to set up full system to burn coal as a fuel for
generate electrical energy in Bajel cement factory.

Board Chairman of the corporation Ameen Ismail al-Shaibani and
Chinese company General Director signed the agreement.
