BACA President receives Youth and Sport Affairs Minister

Manama, Aug. 10 (BNA): President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received Youth and Sport Affairs Minister Hesham bin Mohammed Al Jowder and discussed with him mainly the restoration of the historical Bahrain Club in Muharraq by the Youth and Sport Affairs Ministry. Shaikha Mai stressed that the club is part of Muharraq’s distinguished architectural texture and will represent a major landmark when Muharraq celebrates being chosen "Capital of Islamic Culture" in 2018. She thanked the Youth and Sport Affairs Minister for his keenness on cooperation with BACA in boosting Bahrain’s standing as a cultural hub in the region and the whole world. On his part, the minister hailed the efforts of BACA in preserving Bahrain’s heritage, stressing unflinching readiness for cooperation with the authority to carry out cultural and civilisational projects
