Information Minister receives Sudanese ambassador

Manama, Aug. 12 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi received Sudanese Ambassador to Bahrain Abdulrahman Khalil Afandi who presented him with a letter from his Sudanese counterpart and the government’s official Spokesman Dr. Ahmed Bilal Usman on boosting joint Arab media work and its role in protecting national security and promoting values of tolerance and moderation. The Information Minister lauded deep-rooted fraternal relations between Bahrain and Sudan and its growth mainly in the media field. He also praised joint keenness to activate the Arab media strategy to fight terrorism and extremism and renounce foreign interference in the Arab affairs. He also hailed the Sudanese Information Ministry’s organisation of a workshop on the role of the Arab media in combating terrorism on August 18 and 19 and another workshop on religious discourse and its role in fighting terrorism. On his part, the Sudanese ambassador thanked the Information Minister for his keenness to bolster bilateral fraternal relations and foster pan-Arab media work.
