Premier urges more coordination to address challenges

Manama, Aug. 14 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that the rapidly unfolding events in the region should be coupled with a regional and global determination to step up coordination at all levels, adding that strengthening cooperation is the only option to eliminate threats to the region’s security, stability and development.
Countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) seek good and security for others, and expect them to share their keenness on ensuring common interests and promoting peace and stability, he said.
HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, plays a crucial role in reinforcing security and stability, and defending Arab causes.
Saudi Arabia boasts a deterrent force and a political and economic weight which have entitled it to be a bulwark for all Arab countries, he explained.
The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving at the Gudaibiya Palace today a number of ambassadors of brotherly and friendly countries to Bahrain, press and media personnel, senior state officials and citizens.
HRH Premier urged to document everything related to the national march and the challenges undergone by Bahrain so that the next generations can draw inspiration from the achievements of national action pioneers who defended the homeland through their hounourable stances, just as the current generation learnt love of the nation and dedication in its service from the sacrifices made by their fathers and forefathers.
"Our pleasure in meeting the citizens is beyond description. While meeting them, we are well-informed about their aspirations for enhanced government services in the housing, health and education fields. We are keen to ensure that the government-funded programmes and projects stem from the citizens’ expectations and translate them into the ground," he said.
HRH the Prime Minister called for the need to consolidate the values of communication and rapprochement among the members of the Bahraini society.
"Some parties seek to create threats to distract us from our priorities of enhancing national unity and bringing about more development and progress to the nation," he said, stressing the importance of moving forward with the development and progress march without paying heed to voices which are trying to impede the national march.
HRH Premier lauded the remarkable patriotic role played by journalists and columnists, and their great contributions to supporting the government’s efforts to ensure sufficient services for the citizens through shedding light on their needs, voicing pride in Press community in Bahrain for their impartial and in-depth analysis of the international developments and events.
The attendees asserted that thanks to the plans and programmes adopted by the government, under HRH Premier’s chairmanship, Bahrain has become an oasis of co-existence and a favourable destination for foreign investments.
They appreciated the Prime Minister’s constant interest in everything related to the development march, on the one hand, and keenness on reaching out to the citizens to identify their needs and translate them into plans and programmes that improve the quality of the services provided to them, on the other.
