PERTAMINA STILL TRYING TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF FIRE ON OIL STORAGE TANK
Jakarta, Jan 18 (ANTARA)- State oil and gas company PT Pertamina's public relations officer Wianda Pusponegoro has said reports were still not available on the cause of the conflagration at one of the company's fuel storage tanks in Plumpang village in North Jakarta.
"We are still trying to find the cause of the fire," Wianda told Antara here on Sunday night.
Earlier, Sardi, who was on duty at the Jakarta fire extinguishing agency said that he received a report on the fire at 9.30 p.m.
"Right now the flames were still raging," Sardi said, adding that a number of fire engines had been doployed to the Plumpang area.
The flames billowed up to 100 meters into the dark sky, he said.
In the meantime, another Pertamina's official Anang Rizkani Noor guaranteed the fuel oil supply for consumers in the country's capital city of Jakarta, despite the fire accident in the company's oil storage tank no. 24, containing about 5 million liters of gasoline premium.
On January 15, the government cut the price of premium gasoline from Rp5,000 to Rp4,500 per liter and that of diesel oil from Rp4,800 to Rp4,500 per liter. ***3***
