Leadership congratulated on Olympic silver medal

Manama, Aug 14 (BNA): Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Vice-president of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, today extended sincere congratulations to the Bahraini leadership marking the silver medal won by Bahraini athlete, Eunice Kirwa, in the Women’s Olympic Marathon in (Rio 2016). The SCYS Sec-Gen stressed the Olympic achievement reflects the generous support to the sport and youth movement of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. He also congratulated HM the King's Representative for Charity Work, SCYS Chairman and BOC President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and President of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He pointed their constant support for Bahraini athletes in various sport forums. He highlighted the efforts of the BAA Board of Directors in providing the ideal conditions during the preparation stage that paved the way for winning the silver medal. He noted the brilliant level of the Bahraini athletes in the Olympic races against the world's elite players. He wished the Bahrain athletes to bring more successes to accentuate Bahrain's international sport standing.
