INDONESIAN PARLIAMENT CALLS FOR ISRAEL TO BE TRIALLED
Jakarta, Jan 19 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Parliament demanded Israel be trialled for crimes against humanity for the recent attacks on Palestine at the opening of the House of Representatives' session III here Monday.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Agung Laksono denounced the conflict in Gaza and took the opportunity to host a photo exhibition titled "Don't Forget Palestine", held in the lobby of the People's Representative Council building.
The exhibition showed photos of an Israeli soldier pointing a gun at a small boy, a mother carrying a dead child and the anti-Israel demonstration in Jakarta on Sunday, 11 January, which 20,000 people attended.
The exhibition which also includes a film presentation, discussions on the conflict and encourages donations, was initiated by members of the House of Representatives' caucus for Palestine.
Also present on the occasion was Ambassador of Mozambique to Indsonesia Dr. Geraldo Antonia Chirinza.
