Government interacts with 552 complaints

Manama, Aug. 22 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi said the government interacted with 552 complaints during the first six months of 2016 through the e-monitoring system dedicated to following up on citizens’ complaints and remarks in local newspapers. The minister said out that more than 50 per cent of the complaints were rated as related to service. The others were administrative remarks, humanitarian appeals and economic, political and security complaints. The minister said that the e-monitoring system enables every ministry and government institution to measure the level of criticism levelled against them in the media and the extent of their interaction with that criticism. The system allows reports on the government institutions and ministries’ response to the complaints, requests and proposals via the data index page. Some ministries have also the possibility to classify the complaints according to the governorates to facilitate handling them, he added. The electronic system is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to maintain communication with the media in following up on citizens’ complaints and remarks regarding the performance of the ministries and government departments.
