Royal visit underscores Bahrain's support to Turkey

06 : 34 PM - 26/08/2016 Ankara, Aug. 26 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi described the visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Turkey as "an assertion of Bahrain’s support to all measures taken by Turkey to maintain its security and stability." The minister in a statement to Anadolu Agency (AA) said that Turkey, as stated by HM the King in the bilateral discussions, will always remain Bahrain’s brethren country and ally of which the kingdom is proud. The minister praised the successful visit of HM the King to Turkey which, he said, had opened new horizons for joint work and served as an impetus to further consolidate bilateral relations. He pointed out the leaderships’ satisfaction at the growing relations between both countries and the need for more coordination for the best interest of their peoples. Al Rumaihi added that the next phase will witness more cooperation between Bahrain and Turkey mainly in the commercial field, stressing Bahrain’s unflinching commitment to providing support and privileges to the investors and lauding Turkey’s wealth of experience in the industrial, commercial and economic fields. Concerning the discussion session between HM the King and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the minister said talks focused on regional and international developments and both countries’ stances regarding them. Both leaders, he added, underscored the need for coordination regarding regional and international issues of shared interest and Arab and Islamic interests. Both leaders underlined support to regional and international efforts to fight terrorism and extremism as well as to promote regional security and welfare. HM the King praised Turkey’s pivotal role in supporting Arab and Islamic issues and its positive contribution, alongside the international community, to fostering regional and global security and stability. The minister said HM the King’s visit to Turkey was an added value to strong and growing fraternal relations in light of common keenness on peace, security and rule of the law in both countries. He stressed the efforts made to bolster regional and international stability by fighting extremism and terrorism and consolidating economic and strategic partnership.
