Activities to revive tourist confidence in Hua Hin kicks off today
PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, Aug 27 (TNA) -- The private sector in Hua Hin resort town of Thailand's Prachuap Khiri Khan province joined forces with Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to organise the event, aiming to bring back tourism confidence to the famous seaside town, after it was hit an explosion about two weeks ago, with the first activity to revive the town kicking off on August 27.
Chairman of the Association of Domestic Travel (ADT) Puriwat Limtawornrat said the bombing in Hua Hin during the long Mother's Day weekend about two weeks ago has caused grave effect to the tourism confidence of the town, prompting the ADT and the Hua Hin-Cha-am Tourism Association to join hands with the TAT to organise the event with the target to help stimulate the economy in the tourism front during the months August to November.
The first activity under the campaign would entail a coordination with a tour group to lead over 300 tourists to visit the town and sightseeing here at the popular tourist spots, such as the Hua Hin train station and Hua Hin beach, in order to bring back confidence among visitors about the security and safety of the town.
At the same time, the ADT chairman also said that the local private sector would like the government to immediately lay down long-term safety and security measures in the area, as well as the bring the culprit behind the gruesome act to justice as soon as possible. (TNA)
