Smart world through digital transformation!

Manama, Aug. 27 (BNA): The Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) has announced that the 7th edition of ‘MEET ICT’ conference and ‘BITEX’ exhibition 2017 will be held under the theme “Smart World through Digital Transformation”. expanding the use of Information Technology (IT) which leads to elevating productivity, lessening cost and supporting the national economy will be the core focus of the conference and exhibition. ‘MEET ICT’ conference and ‘BITEX’ exhibition are scheduled to be held in February from 07-09, 2017 in Gulf Convention Centre, under the patronage of his Excellence, Engineer Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohammed, Bahrain Minster of Transportation and Telecommunications. BTECH Chairman of the Board, Ubaydli Al Ubaydli, stated that MEET ICT and BITEX will witness a number of high-caliber and experts in ICT sector who will be participating with speeches to tackle and share their outstanding knowledge mainly focusing on IOT, Big Data and Cloud Computing. He also pointed out to the importance of Digital Transformation that will bring knowledge to the delegates on how it can make the world more sustainable, effective and affordable in many areas such as education, energy and healthcare. Al Ubaydli has also stressed on the keenness of the event organizers to come up with applicable recommendations which are capable of enhancing Bahrain’s position as a sophisticated environment for producing and exporting digital techniques. He also added “Integrated efforts among public, private and civil sectors, is a very vital initiative in this field”. In the meantime, Work Smart CEO Ahmed Al Hujairi stated that the events which will be held on the sidelines of the conference and exhibition should enhance the benefits that will consequent out of them, In addition to boosting the correlation among technical experts and decision-makers in government and the private sectors. “The sidelines’ events will also help exploring the technical developments, besides the Bahraini and the regional markets’ needs, and the best ways to fulfill those needs. Live work sessions will also be present between the ICT suppliers and providers”, said Al Hujairi. Al Hujairi has also added that one of the highlights activities of the event is CIO Knowledge Club Roundtable, which will hold an active and intellectually stimulating discussion that will offer a chance to the club members to interact with IT community from different ministries, organizations and companies of private and public sectors in Bahrain, along with the event speakers and delegations.
