Interior Minister’s edict to achieve high safety levels

Manama, Aug. 27 (BNA): Director-General of Civil Defence, Brigadier Abdulaziz Rashid Al Amer, today said that the edict issued by the Interior Minister on fine those who violate civil defence safety measures aims to achieve the highest general safety standards at industrial, commercial, tourism and other establishments, in addition to ensure fire and accident-free environment.
Under the edict, the civil defence staff shall issue violation statements and provide written warning to remove the violations within 30 days of the drafting of the statements. If the violators fail to rectify them in the allocated period, then another statement is issued and referred to the Public Security Chief to implement measures stipulated in article 24 of decree law 5/1990 on Civil Defence, and amended by law 22/2014.
The edict meets the requirements of comprehensive development in all sectors in Bahrain and aims to enhance safety at establishments, he said, adding that low safety levels could put at risks lives and property.
