NPRA: 5,710 residence violators deported since January

Manama, Aug. 28 (BNA): Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA) has finalized the deportation paperwork of 5710 expatriates who violated the residency rules since the beginning of the year. The figure includes 351 illegal workers who were arrested during inspection campaigns. Assistant Undersecretary of Ports, Search and Follow Up said that as part of the directives of the Interior Ministry Undersecretary for NPRA, an inspection campaign plan to arrest illegal workers was designed in cooperation with concerned authorities. He said that citizens should cooperate with the NPRA and other government organisations by avoiding employing illegal workers and reporting them. He said that illegal worker cases could be reported to the Search and Follow Up Directorate or police stations.
