Arab unity emphasized

Manama, Aug 29 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed the Arab nation currently goes through difficult times and facing challenges that threaten its security, stability and the right of its people to live in peace and to achieve development and construction. This came as HRH Prime Minister today received at Qudaibiya Palace Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit, where a number of Arab, regional and international issues were discussed. HRH Prime Minister pointed out the need to raise the Arab awareness to the level of the challenges, and that the Arab nation needs to unify stances to counter challenges. HRH Premier expressed regret over the incidents led to destabilizing security and stability of some Arab countries. He said that the priority of joint Arab action should chiefly target Arab unity, cease depleting Arab nation's capabilities and strengthen their capacities to fighting terrorism and foreign interference. He underlined the vital role played by Arab League in confronting plots target dividing the Arab nation and causing chaos and destruction. He called for the development of a collective Arab action system to maintain the unity, sovereignty and stability of Arab states. He said the Arab League embodies the Arab desire for unity and solidarity. He called for bolstering this Arab entity to become more powerful to defend joint Arab interests. He noted the need to promote the joint Arab action at political, economic and social levels, as well as coordination among Arab countries to reinforce Arab stances to face schemes aimed at undermining security and stability in the region. He commended the efforts of the Arab League Sec-Gen in boosting cooperation and joint Arab action, asserting Bahrain's support for Arab League. Arab League Sec-Gen expressed appreciation of HRH Premier's supportive stances towards Arab issues which reflect the political wisdom he enjoys.
