Investment in electricity, water sector encouraged

Manama, Aug. 31 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza received Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers (GCCC) Federation Secretary-General Abdul Raheem Hassan Naqi. Dr. Mirza commended the GCCC Federation's role in revitalisation of the private sector in boosting GCC economic integration. He also welcomed the cooperation with the GCCC Federation that boost Gulf cooperation, citing the Federation's role in economic development and the contributions of the GCC private sector. They explored the potential activation of cooperation between the Chambers Federation and the Kingdom of Bahrain's Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) in organizing joint functions to encourage the Gulf private sector and increase its investments in this vital sector. Naqi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the minister and EWA officials for their support to the various functions in which the Federation participated. He also commended the minister's role of developing and transforming the various fields of his work citing his capable representation of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the GCC Electricity Interconnection Council and the provision of all support and assistance that boost the joint GCC work in the area of electricity, water and renewable energies.
