THAI acquires first Airbus A350XWB plane
BANGKOK, September 1 (TNA) - Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, has acquired the first Airbus A350XWB plane, the world's latest model of passenger planes developed by the European aircraft manufacturing giant.
THAI President Jarumporn Chotikasathien told journalists that his company's first Airbus A350XWB plane, named Wichian Buri, arrived at
Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport, from the Airbus French Headquarters, on August 31.
Jarumporn said that THAI has procured a total of new 12 Airbus A350XWB planes, four of which are purchased while the rest are leased.
According to the THAI president, the world's latest model of 321-seat Airbus A350XWB passenger planes have their cabins decorated with contemporary Thai style with enlarged utility spaces for all classes of passengers aboard.
The THAI president announced that the national airline plans to use the newly-procured Airbus A350XWB aircraft to first serve passengers
between Bangkok and Australia on its Bangkok-Melbourne route and vice versa in mid-September 2016.
Meanwhile, THAI now has a total of 23 new Airbus planes in its aircraft fleet. (TNA)
