Care for elderly stressed

Manama, Sept. 4 (BNA): While patronizing "Our Festival is Khaleeji" event, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa stressed that caring for the elderly is a responsibility to be shared by all and dictated by a religious and national duty in tribute to those people who made enormous sacrifices for the community and the nation. He underlined continuous directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to boost the welfare of the elderly, especially those who have no one to care for them. He welcomed the GCC delegations participating in the function, stressing that GCC cooperation in this humanitarian field is of paramount importance and has to receive all kinds of support from the competent authorities. "Our Festival is Khaleeji" was organised by Umm Al Hasam Parents Care Centre in cooperation with a GCC group for humanitarian work. Board of Trustees Chairman of Umm Al Hasam Parents Care Centre Khalil Jassim Khalil gave a speech in which he welcomed Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and thanked him for patronizing the event. He also paid tribute to the leadership for their unflinching care for the elderly, praising unity and cohesion among the GCC countries.
