DPM:Malaysia, Thailand are good neighbours

BANGKOK, September 6 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan says that Malaysia and Thailand are good neighbours and have had sound cooperation. General Prawit, who oversees national security, made the remarks on Tuesday in welcoming the upcoming official visit to Thailand by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, set on September 9. According to the deputy prime minister, issues on general cooperation between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok will be raised for discussions during the Malaysian trip to Thailand late this week. Besides, there will be the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on anti-transnational crime cooperation, covering persons with dual nationalities, between the Malaysian and the Thai governments. The deputy prime minister revealed that both countries have also concluded to build a single 11-kilometre fence along the common border, with the signing of an agreement on the issue set after the Malaysian prime minister's upcoming trip to Thailand.
