UNDP Administrator congratulates Bahrain

New York, Sep. 10 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator, Helen Clark. She extended her congratulations to the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for successfully presenting its Country Programme Document for the period 2017-2020, which was adopted by the UNDP Executive Committee in New York, affirming the progress of the level of cooperation and coordination between the government of Bahrain and the UNDP Office in the Kingdom. Ms. Clark expressed her admiration to the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in development, particularly in the field of human development, pointing out to the achievement of Bahrain to reach a high position in the Human Development Index that placed the country among the category of countries scoring high rates in human development, adding that this affirms the commitment of the government of Bahrain to implement sustainable development goals. The Undersecretary for International Affairs reviewed fields of cooperation to be implemented between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UNDP in Bahrain, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, the government work plan 2015-2018, and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, which will further support programmes aimed at building active capabilities and the sustainable development of establishments to achieve progress in human development. He affirmed the commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain to ongoing strategic cooperation with the UN and its organizations and specialized branches, extending his thanks to Ms. Clark for her support to the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
