Bahrain's advanced steps in promoting democracy stressed

Manama, Sep 15 (BNA): MP Khalid Al Shaer underlined the advanced steps taken by Bahrain to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development and promote democracy through the reform project the strategic Vision 2030 and the democratic process anchored by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Marking the International Day of Democracy, which is celebrated on September 15 under the theme "Sustainable Development Plan for 2030", Al Shaer underscored Bahrain's achievements in sustainable development, pointing out that the existence of a strategic plan in this respect had maximized accomplishments. He said international reports have always placed Bahrain at the forefront of the Arab countries in terms of human development and provision of services for citizens. He also pointed out that the parliament had passed many legislation to serve sustainable development, stressing the key role of the parliament in achieving the sustainable development goals. He added that Bahrain made democracy a pillar for its policy after HM the King's inauguration of the National Action Charter, boosting the principles of freedom and granting Bahraini women all their rights.
