Minister participates in meeting on Syria

New York, Sep. 20 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa took part in the High-Level Meeting on the Political Future of Syria in New York. The meeting was organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia jointly held with the participation of Qatar, US, Turkey, UK, Germany and France, and attended by ministers of foreign affairs from various countries and the chairman of the Syrian Supreme Commission for Negotiations. The meeting affirmed the importance of ceasefire and an end to hostilities, maintaining Syria’s unity and stability, in addition to reaching a political solution to safeguard the Syrian people based on the principles of Geneva 2012 and the relevant international resolutions as well as removing all obstacles facing the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians and the return of Syrian refugees.
