Bahrain participates in Gulf Identity Seminar

Manama, Sep. 20 (BNA): Bahrain is participating in a seminar on "Promoting the Gulf National Identity" hosted by Kuwait. The Kingdom is represented by a delegation headed by Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa the Director of Culture and the Arts Directorate at Bahrain Authority of Culture and Antiquities (BACA). The seminar which began on Monday is organized by Kuwait's National Council of Culture, Arts and Literature, in collaboration with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s General-Secretariat. The three-day seminar coincides with the celebration of Kuwait City as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2016. "We will present our vision at this seminar for consolidation of the values of citizenship which embody Bahrain's Cultural Strategy," Shaikha Hala said. "The cultural strategy aims to advance our national heritage which derives its meanings from the present Bahraini community and we are working to introduce cultural infrastructure projects under this strategy while being open onto the various civilisations and peoples across the world and to promote culture among youths and engaging the private sector in cultural activities taking place in Bahrain all year round."
