Lee sends message of congratulation to Obama

SEOUL, Jan. 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has sent a
congratulatory message to Barack Obama, who is set to be sworn in as new
president of the U.S. this week, the presidential office said Tuesday.
The message will be delivered shortly after Obama is inaugurated Tuesday in
Washington D.C., according to Kim Eun-hye, a spokeswoman for the presidential
office.
In the message, Lee said he "hopes the United States will continue to lead the
way for world peace and prosperity under the leadership of President Barack Obama
who has advocated change and reform," Kim said in a press briefing.
He also expressed hope South Korea and the United States will continue to develop
their alliance under the new U.S. administration, she added.
