Doosan Heavy wins US$70 mln deal to upgrade power plant


SEOUL, Jan. 21 (Yonhap) -- Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., South
Korea's biggest maker of power equipment, said Wednesday that it has received a
US$70 million contract from Eraring Energy Co. of Australia to upgrade a power
plant.

Doosan will upgrade boilers built at the plant in New South Wales, increasing
their capacity to 750 megawatts from the current 660 megawatts, it said in a
statement.
Work will start in March 2010 and be completed by the end of 2013, Doosan Heavy
said.
Doosan aims to attract 800 billion won in orders to upgrade power plants by 2013.
