Songkhal Zoo welcome newborn black-handed gibbon

SONGKHLA, Oct 8 (TNA) -- The Songkhla Zoo in the Thai southernmost region has welcomed a new member into it family once again, as a baby agile gibbon or black-handed gibbon was receny born, where the zoo has expressed that the agile gibbons have been living at the zoo for the past 20 years but only produced an offspring this year. Songkhla Zoo Director-general Chalermwut Kasetsomboon informed that the zoo has just welcomed a newborn agile gibbon, though the gender is unknown at the moment, as the mother gibbon has kept her baby close to her at all times. The agile gibbon is on the animal protection list and could only be found in the Thai south. Mr Chalermwut said the occasion calls for a celebration as the zoo has been raising two agile gibbon couples for the past 20 years, but an offspring was only produced this year. (END)
