Princess presents names to new Thai train lines

BANGKOK, October 10 (TNA) - Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has presented names to four new train lines of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) that will serve passengers with 115 new bogeys to mark the 119th anniversary of the establishment of SRT. SRT Public Relations and Tourism Services Centre told journalists of the information on Monday, saying that the names of the new four train lines presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn include Utrawithi for the Bangkok-Chiang Mai line, meaning the route to the North, Isan Wattana for the Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani line, meaning the route to the Northeast, Isan Makkha for the Bangkok-Nong Khai line, meaning the northeastern route and Taksinarath for the Bangkok-Hat Yai route, meaning the route to the South. According to the SRT, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has given a permission to show the royally-presented name tags on the new train bogeys. (TNA)
