KMITL to launch int'l medical programme in 2018
BANGKOK, October 11 (TNA) - Bangkok-based King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) plans to launch a new international medical programme in 2018, aimed to raise patients' quality of life through scientific innovations.
KMITL President Suchatchawi Suwansawat told journalists of the plan on Tuesday, saying that KMITL is, thus, collecting works on biomedical engineering and innovations, as well as medical equipment, including electric wheel chairs and artificial breasts made from natural rubber, to be used as models in searching for breast cancer to improve patients' quality of life and to support the use of locally-produced raw materials in order to reduce imports.
Dr. Anan Srikiatkhajorn, Acting Dean of the KMITL's International Medical School revealed, meanwhile, that the new international medical programme will be taught in English and about 50 students are expected to enroll through the direct entrance exam in the first year.
Dr. Anan noted that hospitals under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) have already been contacted to allow field trainings of 4th year-students from the new international medical programme. (TNA)
