Thais packed Siriraj Hospital to send off late King

BANGKOK, Oct 14 (TNA) -- Thais from all walks of life have packed the areas around Siriraj Hospital in black to mourn for the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and see his body off to the Grand Palace later this afternoon. Policemen and soldiers were stationed tightly around the Arun Amarin road near one of the entrance gate of Siriraj Hospital, together with hospital personnel to strict screen patients scheduled for appointments at the hospital today. Only patients with appointment cards and ICU patients were allowed to enter the hospital. Neither outsiders nor patients' relatives were allowed to enter the hospital. Authorities have asked for cooperation from the public in refraining from traveling to the hospital for the time being, unless it is urgent or required, until the body of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej is moved out from the hospital to the Grand Palace this afternoon, after which the hospital would return to normal operations. Meanwhile, both sides of Arun Amarin road were crowded with Thai wearing black, with most holding the picture of HM King Rama 9 or Thai flag, to mourn for the passing of the beloved King and see his body being moved from the hospital later today.
