Mourners flock to pay respects to late Thai King

BANGKOK, October 17 (TNA) - Like the last few days, people, most are Thai subjects, have lined up at Bangkok's Grand Palace since early Monday morning, to wait for their turns to go inside to pay respects to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej before his royal portrait. The mourners were asked to dress properly and remove sunglasses and hats, while those wearing sandals were not allowed to enter the Grand Palace. People were also asked to switch off their mobile phones and not to take photos inside the Sala Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion, where they are allowed to sign a book of condolences to the late beloved and revered Thai monarch, who passed away peacefully at Bangkok's Siriraj Hospital last Thursday afternoon (October 13) at the age of 89. Meanwhile, the Royal Thai Navy provides free bus and boat services for the public to facilitate their travelling to the Grand Palace on publicly-announced routes, starting from October 17. (TNA)
