Mass Chanting of Royal Anthem for Late Beloved King
BANGKOK, Oct 22 (TNA) - Over 100,000 Thai people, on Saturday, joined a mass singing of the royal anthem in honour of King Bhumibol Adulyadej outside the Grand Palace.
A large crowd of the people, clad in black, had traveled by public transportation to Sanam Luang to participate in the singing of the royal anthem en masse at 1 pm, accompanied by the 100-member orchestra and chorus. Many people were seen carrying a portrait of the late King, while others raised up banknotes to depict his pictures.
More people are expected to join in the second part of the activity later tonight at 10 pm. For the night mass singing, participants are urged to bring white candles with them.
The singing on Saturday are set to be recorded and will be shown in cinemas and on television later on. (TNA)
