Samsung C&T's 2008 net drops 29 pct

SEOUL, Jan. 22 (Yonhap) -- South Korean construction and trading company Samsung
C&T Corp. said Thursday that its net income fell 29 percent in 2008 from a year
earlier due to losses from equity investments.
Net profit came to 345 billion won (US$251.5 million) last year, compared with
487 billion won from a year earlier, Samsung C&T said in a regulatory filing.
Revenue, however, surged 21.4 percent annually to 11.8 trillion won and operating
profit jumped 28.8 percent to 364 billion won, it said.
