Labour minister to patronise regional workshop

Manama, Oct. 26 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan will patronize the training workshop themed "Domestic violence in GCC countries: its root-causes, impact and prevention methods", which will be organized by the Gulf Sociologists Society in collaboration with Bahrain Sociologist Society, and official media sponsorship of Bahrain News Agency. The lectures will be presented by Dr. Widad Al-Essa as part of the big role undertaken by sociologists in Bahrain and the GCC countries. The three-day training workshop slated to take place on November 22-24 heralds the practical plan in place by the Gulf Sociologists Society and training programmes aimed to advance, protect and fortify Gulf communities to surmount present challenges, according to workshop general coordinator Bushra Mattar. Specialists, social workers and staff members from community welfare centres as well as NGOs will participate in the training workshop.
